"Hello /r/Streetwear familia! Welcome to my special preview page on my website. First of all, thank you for giving some time of your day to check out what I have been working on for over 6 months now. I am honoured."
RESURGENCE® SHOWCASE +
Why "Resurgence"? It is because the brand was heavily influenced by the desire of creating something 100 times better than my first attempt of creating a clothing line. Hence, this why it is called the way it is, a comeback. I have invested hundreds and hundreds of hours trying to learn everything, from creating graphics, learning fabrics, marketing, social media, fashion studies, etc. on my own time. No one guided me besides the great people at /r/StreetwearStartup. This is what the brand has become, my fruits of my labour.
As a broke college student, I only started with a capital of $500 USD. Which was not a lot especially for a start up. I had to resort to my stock to sell before I could ever release a new piece. It is a very delicate method and that if I release something that no one ever wants, that is basically the end of the brand. Unless I can eat up some losses and move on. But thanks to all the early supporters out there, I am now on the works on making my 6th piece!
PROJECT 1: RESURGENCY HOODIE
The first piece released. Came with a front + back white plastisol screen print. It was made locally and used blanks because I did not know what to expect or do. Only made a few (15) but they sold in 2 weeks without any support from friends and family, which was very surprising for me. I kept going.
: RAGE LONG SLEEVE
Definitely my most coveted piece. Also the most requested too. I original made 30 pieces and they sold out in less than a week. This piece sports a side woven label patch and a massive screen print on the back. The front was purposely made clean of any branding or graphic for a simplistic look. I recently opened the page for pre-orders of this piece. If you are interested, come check it out.
Major Influences of the the Rage L/S
As you can see, the patch was inspired by the side patches that the Supreme x The North Face collaborations have. Subtle black bars accompanied by white embroidery. Another major influence was Bruce Lee's yellow Jumpsuit. The color palette of his suit complimented the side patch color choice and also the Tiger graphic at the back. It was a great cross reference between different influences that made this piece a truly great one.
: REVIVAL COACH JACKET
Very basic coach jacket that has a big screen print on the back and a small logo on the front. This piece was the first one to be made overseas. I was very skeptical in their payment methods (Western Union) and all. Communication was difficult between me and the manufacturers. It took a solid week to find the best people to get the job done. Made 30 pieces and it took 3 months to sell out (wew..)
: "DEATH BY SILENCE" SHIRT
Simple shirt. Consist of the RESURGENCE® logo on the front and another massive back screen print. This piece was made in light of recent events. Elections, fake news, cyber security, and manipulation of the media. It just infuriates me personally that these events still happen in the light of a technological age we are in today.
MOST RECENT PROJECT: SPEC# 080417 HOODIE
My most recent piece! It is the most frustrating and money consuming piece I have released so far. This hoodie was an experimental hoodie to which I tried to push the limits of what I can do. Split colored hoodie, embroidered patch. Minimal branding and woven labels litter around the whole piece. I learned a lot about this and the process of making something far greater in terms of cut and sew. It was definitely not a cake walk because I ran into many issues making these. Mistakes are present so that we can learn and grow from it. This was a step in the right direction as a brand owner.
If you have reached this far, Thank you so much! HAVE THIS COUPON CODE THAT IS VALID FOR THE NEXT DROP! (THE 2 DESIGNS ABOVE) USE "REDDITLOVE" FOR $5 OFF.
I hope I have left a good impression as everything is new to me in this industry and that this is just a side hobby that I do whenever I have time to work on it. College is coming soon and it may slow down the pace I am currently in. T'ill next time.
