REGARDING US TARIFFS:
Starting midnight on August 29, the U.S. is ending Section 321 — the rule that let shipments under $800 enter duty-free. After that, every order coming into the U.S. will get hit with tariffs depending on the item and where it’s made.
For a small business like mine, that hits hard. My garments are super technical, and I’ve been working with the same supplier for almost a decade. That relationship is what makes my work possible, and it’s not something I can just replace to avoid these new duties. Bigger manufacturers also require huge minimums, which don’t fit the way I create or match the demand right now.
Since I’m based in Canada, the only way to ship to the U.S. is by paying the duties upfront when I print the shipping label. That eats into margins and makes it harder to keep prices steady.
From 2017 until now, 60–80% of orders have come from the U.S., and I appreciate every single one of you who has supported this vision of mine.
So here’s my decision: I’m not raising prices. As long as I can keep the lights on, I’ll absorb the costs so I can keep making and offering these pieces at the best value I can.
Thank you for sticking with me through this. Hopefully, we can weather the storm together.
Always with love,
— JAFF
